Kumiko Wall Cabinet

This small wall cabinet was designed to keep the tangle of a home media setup quietly out of sight. The solution needed to be functional without being furtive, so the cabinet itself became the object of attention.

The sliding front is a minimalist kumiko grid backed by mulberry paper: clean horizontal lines that read as a shoji screen in miniature. The paper diffuses what’s behind it without concealing it entirely, giving the cabinet a presence that earns its place on the wall. Proud joinery at the corners provides an interior shelf and the same structural frankness found throughout the portfolio.

The piece hangs flush to the wall and is sized to accommodate standard media equipment. Built to order; dimensions and wood species can be varied to suit the installation.
